Why We Are Here
This summit is a working space for practical solutions: stronger STEM instruction, clearer career connections, student-centered learning, family engagement, and industry partnerships that help the next generation not only enter STEM, but stay, grow, and lead.
In 2023, STEM workers made up 25% of the U.S. workforce. At the same time, the STEM and technical workforce is growing faster than many systems are preparing people for it. In manufacturing alone, employers may need to fill nearly 3.8 million jobs between 2024 and 2033, and as many as 1.9 million of those jobs could go unfilled if current talent and skills gaps continue.
STEM talent is everywhere, but opportunity is still unevenly designed. Across education and industry, too many young people are being asked to imagine STEM futures they have never clearly seen, while too many organizations are struggling to recruit, develop, and retain the expertise they already need. Women, Black, Hispanic, Indigenous, and other historically underrepresented groups remain significantly underrepresented in many STEM and high-tech fields.
Collectively with over 50 years of expertise in education and STEM industry, we will build stronger pathways from classroom to career by redesigning how we teach, assess, support, mentor, and partner.
